Company Profile
Tio Lucho’s is a contemporary Peruvian restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia, showcasing the coastal flavors of Peru in a casual, family-style format. Opened in 2022 by Chef Arnaldo Castillo (whose nickname “Lucho” inspired the name), the restaurant pays homage to Castillo’s “tío” (uncle) and the recipes passed down through his family. The menu centers on Peruvian seafood and comfort dishes: ceviches made with market-fresh fish and Leche de Tigre; lomo saltado (stir-fried steak) served with garlicky rice; whole crispy snapper with ají amarillo sauce; and anticucho skewers chargrilled to smoky perfection. Tio Lucho’s vibrant Poncey-Highland space features murals and décor echoing Lima’s bohemian Barranco district, creating an atmosphere as lively as its food’s flavors. The bar pours Pisco cocktails (like classic pisco sours and chilcanos) alongside craft chicha morada. In its first year, Tio Lucho’s earned rave reviews and a spot on local “Best New Restaurant” lists for introducing Atlanta diners to authentic Peruvian criollo cuisine with a warm, familial touch – embodying the chef’s philosophy that nothing brings people together like sharing a good meal (and maybe a little salsa music in the background).
