As a CEO, you should be working on your business, not in your business.
That means not micromanaging every small aspect of your business.
For many CEOs, the problem is one of letting go – specifically, letting go of the need for complete control.
If you can’t let go, you can’t get out of the weeds and out of micromanaging the small details instead of focusing on strategy and a clear roadmap for moving things forward to create more value for yourself and shareholders.
And, then the business stagnates and starts to fall apart.
If you’re a CEO who’s struggling with this problem, one way out of this habit of micromanagement is hiring an executive coach, something I recommend to a lot of my CEO clients who have this problem.
It’s a problem that must be overcome if your business is to grow.
